Stage 3: Parenting adolecents 12+

This workshop is designed to address the unique challenges and complexities of discussing the origin story with donor-conceived teenagers.

We recognize the importance of identity formation during the teenage years. We teach you strategies to help your adolescents explore and integrate their origin story as an essential component of their identity.

We offer valuable insights into adolescent development and empower you to engage in age- appropriate origin story conversations that respect your teenager’s autonomy and individuality.

For both teenagers and their parents, discussing the origin story can evoke a range of emotions and questions. Our workshops provide guidance on addressing these emotions and handling challenging questions sensitively, helping parents build trust and maintain strong connections with their teenagers.

We provide data on the increased use of DNA testing services such as 23 & me and ancestry.com among donor conceived youth, and the implications this has for potentially identifying information about a donor, and/or donor offspring.

We teach you strategies for navigating conversations about this tricky subject with your teenage children.
