Parent(s) Workshop 1:
Starting our Story-sharing journey
(from infancy to age 7)
Our “starting” workshop supports you as parent(s), of all shapes and sizes, in sharing
your family origin story and the day-to-day challenges of raising a dc child.
Our main focus is to:
Show you the Nuts and Bolts of how and when to talk to your child; from infancy to age 7.
Teach you strategies for effective and sensitive communication about disclosure, based on the specific cognitive, social and emotional needs of this age. Your child is at the pre-operational stage of development level which means they learn best by doing. That’s why the strategies we teach involve creative play, art, story-telling, and baking.
Coach you how to weave your family origin story into everyday conversation so that it never feels like a big deal. We emphasize the value in making the conversations ‘fit’ your personal style, child’s temperament, and family climate.
Workshop format:
Our workshops take place over 2 half days (on Saturdays) spaced one month apart.
We accept a maximum of 12 people per workshop to create a supportive and open atmosphere, allowing you to ask questions and express your concerns with other families who get it.
We prioritize confidentiality and respect in our workshops. We create a safe space for parents to share their experiences, concerns, and questions, knowing that their privacy will be protected and their information treated with the utmost respect and confidential.
Why don’t you join us at our next workshop and find out for yourself!
